Meeting & Incentive

One's prestige as a host is determined not by the number of one's guests, but by their age, their martial achievements and the distance they have travelled.

Meetings in Borneo

Borneo is fast emerging as an exciting meetings and conference destination. The opening of the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) means we can now host conferences for up to 4,600 delegates, with literally dozens of venues throughout Sabah and Sarawak that are suitable for smaller conferences as well as conventions and exhibitions.

The combination of rugged rainforest terrain, abundant wildlife, vibrant cultures, mighty rivers and sun-kissed beaches makes Borneo perfect for pre- and post-convention tours and team-building activities, as well as some of the most original and imaginative incentive possibilities to motivate your star performers.

Suntravel offers a comprehensive range of services that are guaranteed to make your meeting, conference, exhibition, convention or incentive trip both successful and unforgettable.

Major Conferences

The state-of-the-art Borneo Convention Centre Kuching is the perfect venue for major international conferences, conventions and exhibitions, with a capacity of up to 4,600 delegates. Many other venues throughout Sarawak and Sabah provide delightful city-centre or beachfront locations for smaller gatherings of up to 1,500 delegates.

Seminars and Retreats

The Rainforests of Borneo provide the ideal venues for secluded seminars and corporate retreats. Sarawak’s remote jungle hideaways provide all that you need for your own private “Camp David in the Jungle” and include the Royal Mulu Resort, the Borneo Highlands Resort, the Batang Ai Longhouse Resort and the Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort. Sabah is famed for its exclusive tropical island resorts, including Gayana Eco Resort, Bunga Raya Island Resort, Gaya Island Resort and Manukan Island Resort, as well as remote rainforest nature lodges suitable for small groups of adventurous participants.

Pre- & Post-Conference Tours

We can tailor-make pre- and post-conference tours from a huge selection of potential destinations in Sabah and Sarawak, including trips and activities that match perfectly with the theme of your conference. We also have extensive experience of looking after family members while delegates are attending conferences.

Team Building

Borneo’s rugged terrain, mighty rivers and vast rainforests make it the perfect destination for team-building activities. Possibilities include kayaking along jungle streams, whitewater rafting, exploring Sarawak’s giant caves or even climbing Mount Kinabalu, just to mention a few. We can also organize a treasure hunt through the city and the rainforest, or create your own special “Survivor” or “Amazing Race” competition, complete with TV crew to record it.

It is simply amazing how the word “Borneo” can make an incentive programme truly exclusive and exotic, motivating your workforce to new heights of achievement. To reward your star performers, we can create remarkable themed incentive programmes and activities, including theme parties with the headhunters, encounters with orangutans, feasts fit for a Rajah, or maybe a weekend of fun at the Rainforest World Music Festival. We make a point of not offering any off-the-shelf incentive products – simply tell us about your organisation and its people and we will design the perfect incentive programme for you.

Sarawak and Sabah offer some of the most competitive rates in the region for hotel accommodation and conference hosting, so even the most ambitious programme may be well within your budget. Nevertheless, we understand that not every conference has a limitless budget, so we can also organize highly affordable conferences and team building activities using good-quality budget hotels and unpretentious beach resorts and jungle lodges that are ideal for youth groups, NGOs, clubs and associations.
