Peraya Homestay & Jungle Rafting (2D1N)

Updated: Feb 29

2 DAYS 1 NIGHT

Kampung Peraya is a Bidayuh village in the Padawan Range, roughly an hour's drive from Kuching. The people of Kampung Peraya have been operating their homestays and river rafting adventures since 2006 and are committed to 100% sustainable tourism.

DAY 1

Kuching - Semenggoh Wildlife Centre - Peraya Village - Jungle Trekking: Pick up from the hotel at 8:00am and proceed to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to observe the semi-wild orangutans during feeding time (9:00am - 10:00am) Over 20 rehabilitated and locally-born orangutans roam this forest reserve, and many still return for extra feeding at the stations. Continue past paddy fields, pepper gardens, and rugged mountain scenery to Peraya Village, for a traditional lunch with your host family. After lunch, spend the afternoon jungle trekking, visiting the ancient skull house en route. After a refreshing swim at a remote jungle waterfall, head back to Peraya Homestay for dinner, then proceed for a nature walk to experience the sights and sounds of the rainforest at night (weather permitting). Overnight at Peraya Homestay.

Lunch and dinner are provided.

DAY 2

Jungle Rafting - Kuching: After breakfast, experience the Borneo Rainforest from a fresh perspective in a bamboo raft or traditional kayak, paddling through class I and II water. Your guide will instruct you on river navigation and safety procedures, making you feel at home on the crystal-clear river. You may choose to split your group into adventurous kayakers and scenic rafters to create optimum enjoyment for each individual. Between rapids your guides will share the river's secrets — local history, fish spawning habits, and how the community uses native plants - and introduce you to Sarawak's invigorating outdoors. The lush rainforest abounds with delicious wild plants and ferns; help your local guides harvest vegetables and transform them into spectacular delicacies via the ancient tribal art of cooking in bamboo. After your riverside lunch, raft downstream to the pick-up point and transfer back to Kuching late in the afternoon.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided.
